What is the NYC 22 Hour Supervisor Site Safety Training?

The NYC 22 Hour Supervisor Site Safety Training (SST) is an additional training program designed for individuals who already have a 40-Hour Site Safety Training (SST) card and are taking on supervisory roles in construction. This course provides the necessary skills needed to effectively oversee job site safety and comply with the safety standards set by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB).


What is Covered in the NYC 22 Hour Supervisor Site Safety Training?

The NYC 22-Hour Supervisor Site Safety Training program includes important safety courses, such as:

  • 8 Hours of Chapter 33: Understanding the NYC Building Code regulations related to safety.
  • 2 Hours of Site Safety Plan (SSP): Creating and implementing a site-specific safety plan.
  • 2 Hours of Tool Box Talks: Conducting safety meetings to communicate hazards and safety practices.
  • 2 Hours of Pre-Task Meeting: Preparing for daily tasks by identifying risks and discussing safety measures.
  • 4 Hours of Support Scaffold User & Refresher: Gaining knowledge about the safe use and inspection of scaffolding.
  • 1 Hour Stairways and Ladders: Learning safety protocols for using ladders and stairways.
  • 1 Hour of Hand and Power Tools: Understanding the proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools.
  • 1 Hour of Asbestos and Lead Awareness: Identifying and controlling hazards related to asbestos and lead exposure.
  • 1 Hour of Confined Space Entry: Learning safety procedures for entering and working in confined spaces.
