It covers the most common hazards that cause injuries and fatalities each year, including falls, electrical hazards, being struck by objects, and getting caught in or between machinery.

You will learn how to identify hazards before they become accidents, understand your rights as a worker, and identify how to stay safe in different work environments

The course takes 10 hours to complete. You do not need to finish it in one sitting. You can complete it online at your own pace using your phone or laptop, even during breaks.

After completing the course, you will receive a printable certificate, and your OSHA DOL wallet card will be mailed to you. This card is recognized across job sites in the United States.

The OSHA card does not have an official expiration date. However, many employers require refresher training every few years, especially for long term projects.

New York City has additional requirements under Local Law 196. Construction workers must obtain Site Safety Training (SST) cards, which are separate from the OSHA DOL card.

  • Workers usually need OSHA 30 along with 10 Hour SST to qualify for the 40 Hour SST Worker card
  • Supervisors need OSHA 30 along with 32 Hour SST to qualify for the 62 Hour SST Supervisor card
