Introduction

Stepping into a leadership role such as a supervisor, manager, foreman, or safety coordinator requires a clear understanding of workplace hazards, safety standards, and team responsibilities. OSHA offers two main 30-hour training programs designed to help leaders build the safety knowledge necessary to guide workers and meet regulatory requirements. These programs include the OSHA 30-Hour Construction and OSHA 30-Hour General Industry training.

Choosing the Right OSHA 30 Course

To select the right course:

• Choose OSHA 30-Hour Construction if the role involves work at construction sites or tasks covered by OSHA’s construction standards (29 CFR 1926).
• Choose OSHA 30-Hour General Industry for leadership roles in factories, warehouses, hospitals, or facilities that follow general industry regulations (29 CFR 1910).

Note: If you plan to work in New York State, a different version of the OSHA 30-Hour course is available, which includes a voice-proctored feature to meet local requirements.
