The NYC SST 8 Hour Worker Refresher Training is required for construction and demolition workers who have already completed their 40 hour SST training. This refresher training updates workers on current safety protocols, new regulations, and industry best practices. Completing the 8 Hour Worker Refresher ensures that the 40 Hour SST card remains valid, which is mandatory for working on construction sites throughout New York City.
According to Local Law 196 of 2017 (NYC Department of Buildings), individuals who have completed the 40 hour SST training within the last 5 years must complete the 8 Hour SST Worker Refresher before the expiration date of their 40 Hour SST card. This requirement makes sure that workers stay updated on safety measures, contributing to a safer job site and maintaining compliance with the local regulations.
If you haven’t completed the NYC SST 8 Hour Worker Refresher Training before your 40 Hour SST card expires, you will need to retake the entire 40 Hour training to renew your SST card.
