OSHA 30-Hour Training and NYC SST - What You Need to Know

Many workers already have an OSHA 30-Hour Construction card. While OSHA 30 is federal training, SST is specific to New York City. The NYC DOB allows OSHA 30 certification to count toward SST hours:

Supervisor with OSHA 30 Certification: Only needs 32-Hour Supervisor SST

NYC SST Card Expiration and Renewal Options

Site Safety Cards are valid for 5 years. When nearing expiration, refresher training is required.

Upgrading from Worker SST to Supervisor SST

Workers with a valid 40-Hour SST Card who move into supervisory roles only need the 22-Hour Supervisor SST course. This upgrades the Worker SST card to a 62-Hour Supervisor SST Card without retaking the full program.
