What Is NYC SST 16 Hour Supervisor Refresher Training?

The NYC SST 16 Hour Supervisor Refresher Training is mandatory for those who have already completed their 62 hour training and need to renew their NYC Site Safety Training (SST) 62 Hour Supervisor Card. This refresher training is designed to keep supervisors up to date with safety standards and regulations, helping them effectively manage safety on construction sites. By completing this training, supervisors gain the necessary knowledge to manage job site safety, prevent hazards, and comply with New York City's safety regulations.

Who Is Required to Take the NYC SST 16-Hour Supervisor Refresher Training?

According to Local Law 196 of 2017, the following roles must complete the NYC SST 16 Hour Supervisor Refresher Training every five years to renew their 62 Hour SST card and stay compliant with NYC regulations:

  • Site Safety Managers
  • Site Safety Coordinators
  • Concrete Safety Managers
  • Construction Superintendents
  • Competent Persons designated by Construction Superintendents

These roles are responsible for maintaining safety standards on construction sites.

What happens if a 62 Hour SST card expires without completing the NYC SST 16 Hour Supervisor Refresher Training?

If you haven’t completed the NYC SST 16 Hour Supervisor Refresher Training before your 62 Hour SST card expires, you will need to retake the entire 62 Hour training to renew your SST card.

Can Previous Certifications Be Used?

Yes, if your certifications are less than 12 months old, you can choose a package for the NYC SST 16 Hour Supervisor Refresher Training that fits with your existing credentials. This allows you to complete only the additional training needed to meet the requirements.

How to Enroll in the NYC SST 16-Hour Supervisor Refresher Training Online?

Enroll in the NYC SST 16 Hour Supervisor Refresher Training with OSHA Training School. Our training is approved by the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) and covers all the courses needed to renew the SST Supervisor Card. Supervisors can complete the training online at their own pace. Upon completion, the SST Supervisor Card will be renewed for another five years.

How Soon Will I Get My Updated SST Card?

After completing the 16 Hour Supervisor Refresher Training and submitting the required documents, OSHA Training School will process and mail your updated 62 Hour SST card within two business days.
